3-2-1 Smoking Method
With this method that has been carried on from generation to generation.
Make moist and tender meat every time you cook. With this briefly written method that has been carried on from generation to generation, you can make the most succulent ribs. Moreover, it is easy to carry out and it can be easily mastered once you do it as we instruct.
The Method?
So basically the method is very evident from the name itself.
3 hours for smoking the meat.
2 hours for wrapping the meat in aluminum foil.
1 hour to baste with sauce and cook in the smoker.
Therefore the name 3-2-1.
The method is straight forward and takes only 6 hours to complete. You can easily be a backyard barbecue champ if you master this simple technique. Your meat will always turn out to be tender and moist.
How to carry this out?
Step 1:
Take a slice of meat that you are willing to smoke. You can go with ribs or brisket. It depends on you. Here we will use an example of ribs.
Next when you have the ribs with you. You need to clean the ribs. Remove membrane from the ribs. You can wear gloves or use a dry paper towel to pull the membrane. It makes it easier to pull the membrane apart.
Step 2:
Now, grab your ribs and coat it with a coffee rub . Make sure the ribs are evenly coated.
Preheat the smoke and set the temperature at 180 degrees. Place the ribs on top of the pellet grill and let it smoke for 3 hours.
The slow temperature will help the ribs to be smoked and prevents overcooking.
Step 3:
In this step, you have to take out your ribs and place them on top of an aluminum foil.
Add brown sugar, honey, and apple juice on top of the rib and wrap it completely with foil. Tip: You can also add some butter for better flavor.
Increase the temperature of smoker to 225 degrees. Add the foil in the smoker for 2 hours.
Step 4:
After the 2 hours, remove the ribs from foil and use a Barbecue Sauce Basting Brush. I use this one as it is leak-proof and adds a perfect coat of sauce on the ribs. It makes basting easier.
Here is a home-made sauce that I mainly use. It is the yummiest sauce and has a lot of flavors.
Let the sauce rest on the ribs and place the ribs back into the smoker for 1 more hour.
After an hour remove the ribs. You may see a shiny barbecue layer on top of the ribs. The meat also leaves the ends exposing some rib ends.
Finally, serve it and enjoy the tender, moist, and well cooked meat.
