The Complete Guide to Smoke a Brisket
Brisket is a piece of meat taken from the lower chest of the beef. It is a tough cut of beef that takes long hours to cook. Slow cooking needs to be done to break the muscle tissues and enjoy the tender meat.

Smoking a Brisket
Now that you have trimmed your Brisket. It is the time when you can start to season it with spices. You can use a store-bought beef rub or can make it yourself at home, here is how.
Next, start your smoker. For this, you need to start the coal in a chimney starter and heat them up. Set the temperature at 220-300 degrees.
You need to place the brisket on the grill with the tougher side facing downwards towards direct heat. Close the smoker for 3-4 hours.

Wrap the brisket in Butcher Paper and place it back in the smoker. For an additional 5-6 hours. When the probe detects the temperature to about 200 degrees then remove the brisket from the smoker. You need to make sure that the butcher paper is completely wrapped around the brisket to get the desired outcome.
It may take around 11-12 hours to cook these are the ideal times to cook a good, moist and flavorful brisker.
Remove the brisket from the smoker and place is on counter top, you may see that the brisket has developed a blackish bark. If you see this it means that the brisket is fully cooked. You can now slice the brisket into desirable pieces and enjoy. Serve it with sauces for best results.
